Basket Baby Carriage- Step By Step Photos

This post is for one of my website readers that was having a hard time figuring out the baby basket carriage craft I have on the website. The craft was originally sent in by one of our Canadian readers and unfortunately she did not give very detailed instructions. So I put together step by step photos to try to re-create what she originally made...

Start with a medium sized basket and a smaller basket without a handle. Place the smaller basket inside the larger basket and either hot glue the bottom in or wire in place.

For a quick demonstration, I used pipe cleaner so it would be easily seen. I would normally use a craft wire. The bottom is the only part that is attached.

Start by laying a receiving blanket over both baskets. Most of the material will be located in the inside of the basket.

Here is another angle of it.
Start on the one side of the basket and start tucking in the blanket between the two baskets. As you tuck, pull the blanket smooth towards the other handle.
Continue tucking and pulling the blanket towards the other side. You normally will not need anything additional to hold it in place. But you can use double sided sticky tape if you are worried about it staying in place.
Continue around.
Finish on the other side of the basket.

Tuck the remaining blanket inside the basket right infront of the handle.
This is what the inside of the basket will now look like...
Start smoothing out the inside from the center section out. The blanket will naturally fold on both sides with the excess material.
Here is the example of the fold I am speaking of.
Place double sided sticky tape inside the fold and attach to the blanket.
Continue the fold down and use double sided sticky tape to line the edges of the basket.
Lay out another receiving blanket in front of you.

Fold each corner in to the center. It will create a diamond shape with straight edges.
Do this one to two more times depending on how big your receiving blanket is. The whole reason I did it this way is to make a smaller blanket with straight edges to place inside of the basket.
This blanket will cover the bottom of the basket. At this point the lady used straight pins to secure the blanket inside of the basket. I am more into using double sided sticky tape so that no one gets "poked" as they dis-assemble it.
Place your baby doll or stuffed animal in the basket. These are just more detailed instructions for the inside of the basket. For full instructions for the completed baby basket carriage please visit my website.

Baby Shower Pictures- Just How Important Are They?

Very Important. I wish I had baby shower pictures from my baby showers. I had 2 baby showers thrown for me (1 for each child) and I have nothing to show from it. I think back on all of the work that the hostesses put into making my baby shower special. They made fun favors and great food. There were decorations and games. They spent so much time and effort on the shower that it would of been nice to have some pictures of their work.

What I am thankful for...

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and it is the time of year we think about what we are thankful for. As the owner of a baby shower website, there are many things I am thankful for. I hope you don't mind me sharing a little about my website with you.

I started my website February 2006, in order to supplement my husband's income while still being able to stay home with my son. There are not too many jobs out there that allow you to stay at home, believe me, I researched a long time before discovering how to do it. You can read my whole story here.

I started out not knowing anything about building a website. But the host that I used, Site Build It, provided tons of information to walk me through the whole process. I was able to find a subject that I love to write about and make money while building a fun and informative website.

It's true that it does take a lot of work to run a website. It is not a get quick rich process, but it is worth it! I currently get 2100-2300 unique visitors a day and about 60,000 unique visitors a month to my website, and it is ranked in the top 1% of the Internet. Which means I am in the top percentage that gets all the traffic. The best part is I can take a day off here and there and still get paid for it, I am able to work the hours that I choose, and I don't have to worry about sales or shipping anything.

My diaper photo gallery is the largest on the web, and I get lots of emails from people that I have helped with my website. I make enough to easily cover my mortgage payment, and also some extra money to spend on my family.

The most important thing that I have gained is the freedom to choose where I want to live, rather than depending on how well my husband's work is going.

Basket Baby Carriage- Featured On Good Things Utah

Recently, I was able to appear on Good Things Utah, the abc 4 morning show for Salt Lake City Utah. I was excited to be on the show with Nicea Degering, since both of our names are pronounced the same. They had me demonstrate one of the baby shower crafts from my website. It was so fun to see all of the behind the scenes production for a television show. I demonstrated a basket baby carriage. It was a fun craft to make. The original idea was submitted to us by one of our website readers from Canada. I'm sure she is proud!
